The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded AFMC the Project AWARE grant in 2023. Project AWARE is designed to develop a sustainable system of school-based mental health programs and services. AFMC provides mental-health-related tools and techniques for your staff, families, and students by working with community organizations.
We aim to help you and your staff build resilience, learn strategies to reduce anxiety, overcome obstacles, and ensure that school-aged youth are connected to appropriate and effective behavioral health services.
A Place to Thrive
Through Project AWARE, AFMC has created this REAL microsite to support and empower teachers in their difficult and important work. Teachers act as nurturers of students' mental health and well-being. This website is living proof of Arkansas' growing community of educators working for students.
This is a safe space for you to:
- Access digital training.
- Download on-demand resources on topics such as wellness strategies for teachers and students, burnout, stress, and relationships.
- Learn about local teachers' stories, challenges, and successes
This site is organized by four keys to resilience. Click each key to unlock more info.
